All new residents will be greeted on arrival by senior staff and the key caring team members who will be looking after them.
As all residents are different, we take our cues about how they would best settle from those who know them well and we adapt to what will work most effectively for them.
At the earliest opportunity we will provide a full tour of the home and introduce our new resident to others in the home.
Our residents spend their time as they wish at Amber Wood – it is their home.
A typical day might start with a breakfast in the dining room or in their own room, followed by a morning activity such exercising, gardening or a craft session. Residents can relax with friends in the lounge, read a book or join in an outing outside the home.
Mealtimes are a highlight offering delicious, home-cooked food in a warm and friendly setting. Evenings provide the perfect time for residents to unwind—whether watching a favourite TV show, chatting with the caring team or enjoying some quiet time in the comfort of their room.
With a mix of companionship, activities and dedicated care, every day can be meaningful and enjoyable.
The food at Amber Wood is delicious. Designed to meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents, our menus are varied and nutritious.
Meals are freshly prepared on-site each day ensuring residents have a choice of food options and can enjoy their favourite dishes. We accommodate all dietary requirements and food intolerances.
Meals are served in communal dining areas to encourage social interaction, though residents can opt to dine in their rooms if preferred. Snacks and drink are available throughout the day.
While we unfortunately cannot accommodate pets in the home we do welcome pets visiting with residents. We only ask that we are provided with evidence of up-to-date vaccinations and that owners read and sign the visiting pet risk assessment upon first visit for each new pet to visit the service.
Family and friends came come and visit whenever they like – no appointment is necessary.
